Clear Braces

Practicing good oral hygiene, along with regular checkups, are essential for maintaining good health. Your teeth and gums impact the health of the entire body. If you don’t take care of them, you can get sick more often and increase your risk for diseases. Things like cavities, gum disease, and tooth decay can cause incredible pain that makes it difficult to enjoy life, let alone your favorite foods. At A Healthy Smile Dentistry, we understand the importance of maintaining good oral health and provide general dentistry care to help our patients live life fully. Taking simple steps like getting your teeth cleaned regularly, fixing cavities, and having regular dental examinations can prevent gum disease and additional dental health problems. Yusun Gohard DDS, along with our highly trained staff, provides preventative care and general dentistry services for patients of all ages. Whether a child getting their teeth cleaned for the first time, a patient suffering from tooth sensitivity, or someone needing a major dental procedure, the highly trained staff at A Healthy Smile Dentistry will provide excellent dental care.

Dental Implants

Missing teeth can be embarrassing, causing people to hide their smile and lose their self esteem. The space created by missing teeth can easily become infected with bacteria, cause other teeth to shift out of place, and make it difficult for people to speak or eat correctly. Yusun Gohard DDS and the staff at A Healthy Smile Dentistry are sensitive to the hardship a missing tooth can cause. We provide dental implants so our patients can regain their self confidence, improve their health, and approach life boldly. If you are suffering from missing teeth, we can help you by transforming your smile. Call us at 973-377-2222 to schedule an appointment and let us transform your smile into something as beautiful as you are.

Dental Cleaning & Examination

Clear Braces

Regular checkups are just as important for the health of your mouth as they are for the overall health of your body. We recommend that patients schedule an appointment to have their teeth cleaned and examined by Yusun Gohard DDS at least once a year. Those that are at risk for gum disease should be seen more frequently. The A Healthy Smile Dentistry offices are comfortable, inviting, and centrally located in the Florham Park area. We treat patients of all ages so call 973-377-2222 to schedule your appointment.

Bridges & Crowns

Teeth that have been severely damaged need a more intensive dental treatment than veneers can offer. For these patients, a crown is an ideal solution because it is wrapped around the entire tooth, providing incredible support. After a mold is taken of a patient’s tooth, our technicians create the perfect shape and colored crown that Yusun Gohard DDS will place over the tooth. It is imperative that a highly skilled dentist conduct this dental procedure to ensure that the crown fits properly, as loose fitting crowns can be painful.

Bridges are used to replace one or more missing tooth. They are amazingly strong because a bridge is secured to the existing teeth on both sides and then cemented into place. Patients that have bridge work done can bite down like they would with normal teeth without the fear of it breaking or becoming loose. The staff at A Healthy Smile Dentistry are highly trained and experts at installing both crowns and bridges.

Dental Veneers

Clear BracesDental Veneers and laminates are used in a variety of dental procedures that make smiles beautiful. Veneers turn an imperfect smile into something stunning. They are made from resin composite or porcelain and made at a dental lab or in our office. Patients can use veneers to cover all, or a portion, of their teeth. If the veneer is only covering one or a couple of teeth, the color will be matched to the patients existing tooth color after a thorough teeth cleaning.
At A Healthy Smile Dentistry we recommend veneers and laminates for patients looking to:

  • Brighten their smile by covering intense discoloration.
  • Repair chips or cracks in their teeth.
  • Create a uniform smile.
  • Fill spaces in between teeth.

Yusun Gohard DDS meets with each patient considering veneers to discuss the viability of installing them, the patient’s overall oral health, and the steps taken during the procedure. The mold will then be made of the patient’s mouth and the colors selected. The technicians at A Healthy Smile Dentistry will create custom veneers with the perfect fit to brighten and enhance our patient’s smiles.

Teeth Whitening

Patients throughout the Florham Park area trust A Healthy Smile Dentistry to whiten their teeth and brighten their smiles. A bold white smile is both friendly and welcoming. It can completely change someone’s appearance. Especially as people age it is important to keep smiles fresh and white to appear more youthful and invigorated. Teeth whitening is a high-demand dental procedure, and we offer multiple solutions for our patient’s teeth whitening needs. Our dental treatments are safer than vigorous brushing which can cause people to strip the enamel from their teeth.

Zoom! Whitening

This revolutionary dental procedure produces immediate results for patients wanting whiter teeth quickly. It is a safe and effective in-office teeth whitening procedure that is completed in around one hour. Your teeth can be sparkling by the end of your lunch break.

Zoom! Whitening gel is placed on patient’s teeth, and a special light is used to activate the whitening power. A fluoride treatment is used afterwards, and teeth turn six to ten shades brighter with only one visit.

Dental Restorations

Dental restorations are often necessary to improve a patient’s oral health and to prevent further damage and decay.
This dental procedure is most often used when patients suffer from severe cavities and part of the tooth material has to be removed. The expert staff at A Healthy Smile Dentistry will remove the infected or damaged area of the tooth that is then filled with an alternative material such as gold, dental composites, or porcelain. By removing and replacing the damaged portion of the tooth, we are able to prevent further pain and decay. Once the dental restoration is complete patients can eat normally without fear of discomfort.

Invisalign

We Offer Invisalign

Invisalign is your invisible solution for straightening your teeth without those clunky braces. Using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign gradually straightens your teeth – leaving the metal and wires out of the picture.

How does Invisalign work?

Utilizing innovative 3-D computer imaging technology, Invisalign will show you the whole treatment plan, starting from the initial position all the way to the ultimate, desired position of your teeth. From the treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners are created. Each aligner is made to incrementally adjust the tooth’s position and is worn for about two weeks. After two weeks, the next aligner in the series replaces the previous one, continuing on until the final position is in place.

What are the primary benefits of Invisalign?

  1. Invisalign is clear. You can keep straightening your teeth a secret.
  2. Invisalign is removable. Unlike braces, there are no restrictions on what you eat or drink during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally to keep up your good oral hygiene.
  3. Invisalign is comfortable. Leave the metal and wires at home with the braces. There is less mouth irritation and less time at the dentist’s office getting adjustments.
  4. Invisalign allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan before starting so you can see the beautiful end result before anything even begins.

What are aligners made of?

Invisalign aligners are made of clear, strong medical grade plastic that is invisible to others when worn.

What do aligners look like?

Aligners are clear and look like tooth-whitening trays, except custom-made for a better and more comfortable fit than other teeth-moving alternatives. Some orthodontists and dentists have referred them as “contact lenses for teeth.”

Is this a new way to straighten teeth?

For years, orthodontists and dentists have used removable appliances for limited treatment. Today, with the application of computer technology and custom manufacturing, Invisalign treats a broader range of cases with greater precision.

How many patients are being treated with Invisalign?

Since being founded in 1997, Invisalign’s manufacturer Align Technology, Inc. has treated almost 250,000 patients and produced over 10,000,000 aligners.

Do doctors need special training in order to use Invisalign?

Yes, specific training is required. Dr. Gohard has completed all of the mandatory training to allow cases from our office to be accepted by Invisalign.

How does Invisalign effectively move teeth?

Similar to how braces use brackets and arch wires, Invisalign aligners implement controlled forces on the teeth to properly position them. The main difference is that we not only control the forces applied, but we also control when the forces are applied. Each aligner allows only certain teeth to move, predetermined by your treatment plan.

Has the FDA cleared Invisalign?

Yes, the FDA reviewed the application and deemed Invisalign exempt from 510(k) pre-market notification in August 1998.

What is Invisalign Express?

Invisalign Express is for mild orthodontic problems, like minor crowding and spacing. Because it is only for slight problems, the treatment plan is usually for less than six months. Consult Dr. Gohard for more information about Invisalign Express.
